Quality Area 1 Educational program and practice

This area focuses on pedagogical practices of educators and co-ordinators as well as the development of programs that promote children's learning across the five learning outcomes.

To develop a program you need to understand your beliefs of why you want to provide care and education and if this follows your philosophy. ACECQA provides information on how to revise a philosophy. Revising the service philosophy There are also other pieces of information that can assist services to understand how to link their philosophy to practice. The resources provided are deliberately separated into two sections.

The Guide to the National Quality Framework  is for all services and important to have available in your service.

Louise has been working in the early childhood industry for 20 years, firstly as an Early Childhood Teacher and then a Director, both teaching and non-teaching. She has experience in private and community-based services across all service types and has extensive experience in all facets of managing large and small services.

Donna Field has been working in the children's services industry for over 20 years. Donna has worked in many service types for both local government and community-based managing small mobile preschools, long day care services and OOSH services with a specialty for managing budgets. Currently Donna shares her time teaching at TAFE and delivering mobile training.
