Trauma Informed Care
Trauma-informed care is about learning how to better care for a child or young person who has experienced trauma. Trauma can occur when children or young people have experienced a fire, flood, death, family separations, illness or abuse/neglect. It is detrimental to the child/young persons development that we are aware of how to support the individual or group through this trauma in a positive and informed manner. The Connections book is one place to start in understanding how to do this. Be You is a website that also offers valuable resources to assist.
